We have just welcomed 10 new REU students to Texas A&M Oceanography for the summer. They'll be intensively working on independent research projects for 10 weeks, including attending a field work cruise in the Gulf of Mexico to learn how to take samples.
Here is my student Molly, who is running numerical drifter simulations to help study how the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary coral reefs are connected with other locations in the northwestern Gulf of Mexico:
